A.D. Contractors Pty Ltd was founded by Brian Attwell in 1970 as a family owned and operated business. It is still a family owned business with Brian Attwell as Company Director, Ian Attwell as Director and employs Paul Nelson as consulting engineer.

A.D. Contractors Pty Ltd employs 41 highly skilled, experienced and qualified staff including 2 full time office personnel, 4 mechanical / workshop staff, plant operators, semi and truck drivers.

The head office of A.D. Contractors Pty Ltd is locally based at 18 Kelly Street Albany and services an area of approximately 400kms. Our administration office and workshop are located at this site. Although our main focus is civil earth moving and plant hire, we also supply a wide range of raw materials such as crushed and screened gravel, rocks, limestone, topsoil and sands.

Our company comprises:

  • Workshop- set up for heavy duty servicing and repairs 2 mobile service vehicles

Director, Brian Attwell has been in the earth moving business for many years. He started A.D. Contractors Pty Ltd in 1970 and has been successfully running the business since.

Key Duties:

  • Supervising on-site to ensure the conditions of the contracts are met.
  • Ensuring all personnel adhere to safety practices while on-site.
  • Ensuring the quality standards are met on-site and meet regularly with supervisors to discuss the contracts.
  • Liaising with Superintendent and Principal of contracts and attending site meetings.
  • Instructing personnel on-site in their relevant positions.
  • Quoting and estimating for contracts and other works.

Co-director, Ian Attwell has been working with A.D. Contractors Pty Ltd since his apprenticeship in 1984 with the company. He is currently the operations and safety officer and has training in Occupational, Health and Safety Programmes for Safety Representative, Supervisors and Managers.

Key Duties:

  • Organising operations and personnel on a day-to-day basis and contracts to ensure all operations are flowing smoothly.
  • On-site supervising.
  • Conducting safety meetings.
  • Ensuring personnel are provided with appropriate safety equipment. and advising in safety practices.
  • Reconciliation of timesheets, invoices and purchase orders.

Consulting Engineer, Paul Nelson is a highly qualified and experienced civil engineer and has had many years working overseas and in Australia on major contracts.
